Memorial Day activities will be posted on the Post bulletin board once they are finalized.

Helen Gardner, Commander

Howdy, folks!  This year is winding down.  Myself, I would like to thank all the members who have supported the present Post command for the past year.  This year we have gotten quite a lot accomplished.  Improvements to our facility, Patriot Storage running full swing, and we have added quite a few new members to our Post family.  I am sure that the upcoming year will be just as grand!

Memorial Day is fast approaching, which begins the 101 days of summer.  Please be mindful of summer safety concerns, i.e., driving, water and boating safety.  We want all our members safe and well!

Leroy Koonce Jr., Adjutant

Sons of the American Legion Comments

Canteen Comments

Elections will be held the day of our meeting, the first Tuesday in May.  Please come out and support our organization by voting!

There will be a Mother’s Day breakfast on Sunday, 9 May, where all mothers accompanied by a paying escort will eat free.

The SAL is in need of 15 new members by 10 May to obtain our 100% goal.  Please see your Post officers if you have not renewed or you would like to join.  Remember, Legionnaires can join for $5, which is our cost, and aids the Post, District, State, and National.

Rick Hawthorne, Commander

I would like to thank all our patrons for the support they’ve given the canteen and hope that it will even get better!  We will continue to bring specials and events to our patrons.

Friday, 16 Apr, 1800:  Bacardi specials, promo gifts such as hats, shirts, key rings, etc.  Finger food will be served.

Sunday, 25 Apr:  Happy hour prices during the NASCAR race.  Everyone bring your favorite snacks/finger foods.  We’ll be selling tickets for prizes and also drawing for door prizes.  This is always fun, so mark your calendars and start your engines!

Wednesday, 5 May:  Cinco de Mayo!  Margarita special and Mexican food.  Grab your sombreros and go south of the border with us!

Friday, 14 May, 1900:  Music in the canteen by our own member band, “Second Hand”.

Faye Lane, Manager
